The Stable, Near Tenterden

Located in a rural position, yet with the town of Tenterden on the doorstep, this spot has some fantastic views across the Wealden countryside. Originally a stable, the property has been tastefully restored into a quality home from home. Each fitting has been skilfully hand crafted, from each door being hand made to the beautiful brickwork and beams, it gives a real sense of authenticity. The patio looks across a paddock and includes garden furniture. Fresh farm produce can also be purchased from next door depending on the season.

The Cottage

Leading from the entrance hall, the well equipped kitchen includes oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Stepping down into the spacious lounge and dining area, the exposed brickwork and wood-burning stove add a nice touch of character. Comfortable seating for 6 in both dining and lounge spaces along with a flat-screen Freeview TV and double doors which lead out to a patio. A family bathroom including bath with shower over, WC and basin is also on the ground floor as well as a double bedroom with en-suite shower-room. Upstairs is a quaint landing hall with an equally character twin bedroom which feels like something from a fairy tale with its vaulted beams. At the other end is a further double bedroom with views across the paddock as well as a third bathroom with bath, WC and basin. Two put-up beds can be made up to sleep up to 8 persons at an additional charge, one on the upstairs landing and the other in the master king-bedroom.

The Location

With the town of Tenterden just a mile away you have a lot of amenities within a short distance as well as many country walks straight from the property. The ancient town of Rye is also in this area, with its cobbled street, shopping and some nice places to eat. The enchanting Bodiam Castle as well as an selection of vineyards are also in this region, most notably the Chapel Down Vineyard which has a rather nice restaurant in Smallhythe. Also around half an hour away is the Royal Tunbridge Wells with spa’s and boutique shopping or Ashford with its high speed train links to London and the continent as well as the Designer Outlet.
