Heron Cottage, High Halden
With views across the countryside and a tranquil (unfenced) pond, this beautifully converted stable is situated behind a traditional Kent barn. It has been tastefully renovated and refurnished for 2017 and still retains original character features. Heron Cottage features its own patio area with garden furniture. You also have access to a 36ft swimming pool, heated from May through until September (exact opening date weather dependent). The cottage offers free Wifi. Although babies up to 6 months old are permitted, there is unfortunately a minimum age limit of 18 at this property.
The Cottage
Heron Cottage has a beautifully beamed sitting room with double glazed French windows overlooking the pond and its own patio area, furnished with a sofa, digital TV with Netflix, radio and electric heating. There is a separate well equipped kitchen, a shower room and bedroom with a kingsize double – a large storage wardrobe is in the hall way. The patio doors lead to a private terrace with garden furniture which overlooks the pond and the surrounding countryside. Shared washing machine and dryer are available.
The Location
The countryside offers plenty of opportunities for the energetic and gentle walker with public footpaths covering the surrounding area starting right from the property. High Halden is a short walk away across fields and has a nice local pub that offers good food, a corner shop and a very pretty church. Tenterden, only ten minutes away, offers a selection of boutique shops and supermarkets along with restaurants, traditional inns, antique shops, tea houses, local park and leisure centre. The cottage is also well situated for visits to National Trust properties, castles, beaches, gardens and vineyards in the area. Many other sports and leisure facilities are available locally including golf, horse riding, sailing and other water sports with the closest beach in Camber.
