George’s Cottage, Woodchurch 

This luxurious and spacious contemporary cottage is located in the centre of Woodchurch and has views across a paddock across to the village green’s wild flower meadow and the church spire beyond. There is a good size garden that backs onto a paddock with a large patio including outdoor furniture. Large off-street parking area for 3+ cars is right next to the cottage. With Woodchurch being surrounded by rolling Wealden countryside, you are never too far away from a country walk or ramble in the forest with the convenience of all of the village amenities on your doorstep. The cottage has been finished to a very high standard, from the hotel-like instant hot water taps to the solid-oak kitchen worktops and designer en-suite bathrooms for all 3 bedrooms.

The Cottage

The large entrance hall opens onto the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, the stairs lead off to the right, a utility room with downstairs WC is straight ahead and a large twin/super-king* bedroom including en-suite bathroom is off to the left. This large downstairs bedroom includes built-in wardrobe, TV and dresser as well as an en-suite bathroom featuring 1.7m shower, bath, WC and basin.  The kitchen is well equipped and features a large breakfast bar with stools for 4, full height fridge and separate under-counter freezer, oven and hob as well as a dishwasher. The large dining table caters for up to 8 with the lounge comfortably seating the same, this also features 43in smart TV and views out to the paddock. The large bi-fold doors open up to the patio, brining the outdoors inside and is a great feature to this space. Upstairs is the Master Bedroom with the same views across the paddock, 43in digital TV, en-suite shower-room including shower, WC plus ‘his and hers’ basins. The third twin/super-king* room features TV, built-in wardrobe as well as an en-suite shower room including shower, WC and basin. There is also an upstairs office space with desk. *The ground floor and third bedroom are presented with twin beds which can be pushed and locked together by you to make a super-king bed.

The Location

Voted Kent’s Best Kept Village on many occasions, Woodchurch has the village green is at its heart – being surrounded by a good number of impressionable period properties. Watch a game of cricket or walk up to the famous Windmill and enjoy a pint or a nice meal in one of the two village pubs. There is an excellent butchers, post office and a general store all within a short minute walk! There is also a fenced child’s play area with swings on the green as well as a wild-flower meadow. If you are after a charming village location then it doesn’t come much better than Woodchurch!
The ancient hilltop town of Rye is just a 10 minute drive and the picturesque Tenterden with a great range of shops and restaurants is just 4 miles away. World famous Canterbury, Leeds Castle, Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens are all within half an hour’s drive. A high-speed train service to London in 38 minutes or the Eurostar are also available from nearby Ashford. The popular Camber Sands beach and dunes are only a 20 minute drive away!
