Buxford Mews, Ashford
Part of a restored manor house dating back to the 1700’s built originally by the Toke family, to accommodate the Dowager of Godinton House. There are some great character features that have been preserved such as the wide stairs, spacious landings and original water pump in the front garden. Apart from this historic backdrop there are all the modern conveniences as well as two beautifully fitted contemporary shower/bathrooms. The Cottage
The porch leads into a large entrance hall with the kitchen/ dining area to the left and lounge to the right, the broad staircase and utility room also lead off at the far end. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of workspace and includes a dining space seating six. The large lounge includes a Freeview TV, feature electric fire, and comfortable seating with two sofas and a recliner. The utility room includes a WC as well as the washing machine. Up the stairs is a large landing which has a desk looking out over the river and leads off to the 3 bedrooms and family bathroom. The master bedroom is very spacious with a double bed and an en-suite including his and hers basins, WC and shower. The family bathroom has a Victorian roll-top bath, separate shower, WC and basin. The second bedroom has a double bed and finally the third bedroom a single bed, all with heaps of hanging space.
The Location
Buxford Mews is situated on the outskirts of Ashford and just a 5 minute walk from the village of Great Chart sporting two nice pubs. The centre of Ashford is just 20 minutes by foot with high speed rail up to central London or Paris and the continent by Eurostar. Ashford provides a range of restaurants/ pubs centrally and around the local area, as well as shopping in the town and the Designer Outlet. The ancient Canterbury is a worthwhile trip with its Cathedral, extensive restaurants, bars and shopping. Being in the Garden of England there are lots of gems to be found around the countryside, Godinton House and Gardens is a nice walk away across the fields and further out is Leeds Castle, Sissinghurst and Scotney Castles, all of which are great days out.
