Beate Cottage, Goudhurst
This traditional Kent farm dating back to the 16th Century is set amidst glorious countryside at the end of a one mile farm track in the heart of the Weald of Kent. This is a perfect hideaway for a relaxing country holiday. An ideal base from which to explore leafy country lanes, visit stately homes, castles and delightful gardens which abound in this area, or enjoy a long leisurely lunch in one of the many village Inns. You may prefer to stay on the farm and feed the ducks, play tennis, enjoy the views, or walk in the forest.
The Cottage
Beate Cottage is a converted stable with a very attractive enclosed courtyard for outdoor dining. The entrance hall leads to the main bedroom on the ground floor, a spacious room with a large double bed. A semi spiral staircase in the hall leads to the second bedroom, this room has two single beds. There is an open plan sitting/dining room with wood burning stove and a large well equipped kitchen. The bathroom has a bath with shower, a hand basin and w.c.
The Location
This farm is located in the heart of the Kentish Weald, ten miles southeast of Royal Tunbridge with plenty to interest a country visitor. The nearest shops are in Goudhurst, a charming old Kent village with church, inns, tea shops and restaurants. There are golf courses at Ticehurst, Hawkhurst, Cranbrook and Tunbridge Wells. Riding is available close by. A footpath running from the farm gives direct access to Bedgebury Forest, with several miles of walking, birdlepaths and cycle routes. Bewl Water reservoir has fly fishing and boat trips and many historic sites are within 30 minutes drive..
