The Heart of Kent provides a great balance of attractions, history and lush expanses of pristine English Countryside. This area is an extremely central location and is a great springboard to explore the rest of South East England and beyond! Encompassed in this area is the picturesque town of Tenterden in the south with it’s quaint coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques.

Right in the centre of the county is Ashford which offers great links up to London (Within 30 minutes) and internationally, also with it’s designer outlet. further north are the towns of Faversham which has a beautiful traditional cinema and Sittingbourne with the beautiful Doddington Place Gardens.

Scattered with small and characterful villages in the backdrop of some truly stunning areas of outstanding natural beauty there are some beautiful sights to see in this area. Historical pubs, inns, churches and ruins are found all along the Pilgrims Way which cuts its way through the North Downs as a part of its ancient route. You also have a vast range of different manor houses and country estates to choose from whether it be dining at Eastwell Manor in Ashford or exploring the beautiful gardens and house at Hole Park in Rolvenden.

Being in the Heart of Kent you have extremely easy access to a wide range of amenities and attractions whether it be shopping in Ashford’s Designer Outlet, dining in a Michelin Star restaurant or even taking a day trip up to London or the continent via the high speed rail links.

Regular events and gatherings are often being held for a whole range of activities whether it be walking/rambling in the countryside to motor sports at the Brands Hatch race circuit or music concerts all around the area.

Kings Wood in between Ashford and Canterbury has an enchanting display of various sculptures and exhibitions with the Stour Valley Arts project, there are some really great pieces. There is a fantastic small bakery in the village of Wye which offers some really tasty treats freshly baked from scratch, there is also a great farmers market in the square every first and third Saturday of each month selling fresh and local produce.

Eating out provides a great choice of different restaurants from Reads Restaurant in Faversham, which can be tied in with a visit to the famous Shepherd’s Neame Brewery, to The Secret Garden just outside of Ashford there are some very nice places with local produce and beautiful scenery to dine in this area.

As you can most probably gather the Heart of Kent is not only a great place to explore the locality of this part of the UK but also as one of the best springboards to base your stay – giving you almost instant access to the rest of the county, London, the South East and Europe.
